Used for
Taking out small marks or scratches and polishing plastic and resin.

Check out our ferrous metal, non-ferrous metal and glass kits if you are restoring other surfaces.
Use with
A standard drill or air tool, any rotary tool that will take a 6mm spindle (one which also doesn’t run faster than the 3,000RPM recommended).
How to assemble the polishing plastic repair kit
Sandwich the wheel between the two washers and mount onto the mandrel.
Tighten the reverse thread nut (the reverse thread on the tool means it won’t come undone as the tool spins on your drill).
Attach the end of the mandrel to your drill. The mandrel fits most basic drills.
How to use the polishing plastic repair kit
Start with the Blue Radial wheels, these are directional, so they require to be spun so the flaps are not bent back on themselves but smoothly brush the surface (see directional arrows on the side of the wheel). These Blue Radial wheels do not require compound, so use direct into the plastic surface. Keep the wheels moving, do not allow to dwell on one spot. These will take out fine marks and scratches and prepare the surface for polishing.
Use the felt wheels with the darker brown compound first as this is for cutting. We recommend clamping the compound to a G clamp. Spin the wheel in your drill against the cutting compound to load compound onto the wheel. Compound will melt and coat the wheel. Work over the plastic ensuring you keep moving.
For polishing use another felt wheel and the light brown compound in the same way.
IMPORTANT: When polishing plastics its important to not let it get too hot as it might melt the plastic! So remember do not dwell in one spot and keep it moving. Keep reloading the felts with compound by spinning against the bar, this will reduce the friction.
ALWAYS test the cleaning disks on a test surface before use. Abrasive disks can cause damage to soft and pliable surfaces.
Safety
ALWAYS follow the instructions of your power tool.
ALWAYS use personal protective equipment. Use of googles and gloves is recommended. Please Tie back loose cloths and hair.
Metal work is a dirty job so please bare this in when choosing, making safe and cleaning your work area. An appropriate ventilation system is recommended. Always clean the area after use, using an appropriate vacuum system. Micro-plastics can be released as the nylon cleaning disk degrades – so please contain and clean up the particles to prevent escape into the environment.
