Refill packs for use with our drill-mounted cleaning kit. These cleaning disks take all of the hard work out of cleaning and restoring almost any large object or surface.
Simply mount your cleaning disks to your drill using a mandrel (supplied in the general cleaning kit). Watch all dirt, rust, debris and muck fly away. Clean back your object or surface and restore to its former glory.
The drill-mounted cleaning disks are suitable for most durable surfaces. Metal, ceramic, wood, etc.
Drill-Mounted Cleaning Disk Refills – Contents
- Medium CA nylon cleaning disk -Pack of 20
Used For:
Cleaning metal, preparing for polishing by smoothing scratches. Also for satin finishing, they leave a nice even finish. The brown coarse mops will remove rust and grime and restore metal back to a matt shine. The red and green wheels are finer and will leave an attractive bright satin finish. They can be used on any metal surface from hard metals such as stainless steel to softer metals like aluminium and brass. The red and green wheels are also suitable for soft precious metals like gold and silver.
Use With:
A standard drill or air tool, any rotary tool that will take a 6mm spindle (one which also doesn’t run faster than the 3,000RPM recommended).
How to assemble the drill-mounted cleaning disks
You can use one wheel or up to six, depending on how thick you want the tool to be. Sandwich the loose wheels between the two washers and thread onto your mandrel (note: the cleaning disks also fit some other types of mandrel).
Tighten the reverse thread nut (the reverse thread on the tool means it won’t come undone as the tool spins on your drill).
Attach the end of the mandrel to your drill. The mandrel fits most basic drills.
How to use the drill-mounted cleaning disks
Use the drill to rotate the cleaning mops and apply lightly to your surface. A cream cleaner or compound can be used where appropriate.
We recommend using each grade one at a time (brown is the most course, whilst green is the least course). A speed lower than 3,000 RPM is recommended. Avoid tackling sharp corners, as they might wear quickly. These mops are designed to break down with use, this is why the correct speed is important. Start with the coarser wheels first working to the finer ones for best results.
ALWAYS test the cleaning disks on a test surface before use. Abrasive disks can cause damage to soft and pliable surfaces.
Safety
ALWAYS follow the instructions of your power tool.
ALWAYS use personal protective equipment. Use of googles and gloves is recommended. Please Tie back loose cloths and hair.
Metal work is a dirty job so please bare this in when choosing, making safe and cleaning your work area. An appropriate ventilation system is recommended. Always clean the area after use, using an appropriate vacuum system. Micro-plastics can be released as the nylon cleaning disk degrades – so please contain and clean up the particles to prevent escape into the environment.
