Finishing with Micro-Mesh
Sand the bare wood as normal, apply your finish and let it cure. Then work through the Micro-Mesh grades between coats, or on the final coat, to flatten it and bring up the gloss.
The cushioned backing follows curves and turned profiles, so it won’t cut through edges the way paper can. It is just as good on acrylic and resin pen blanks.
Common questions
Can I use Micro-Mesh on the lathe?
Yes. Pads and sheets work well on the lathe at low to medium speed. Keep them moving and use them wet or dry.
Does it work on oil finishes?
Yes. It is great for burnishing between coats of oil, as well as on lacquer, shellac and cured resin.
