The Professional Standard for Radial Disc Finishing
The Dedeco 7/8″ radial disc is considered the benchmark size for most finishing applications.
It provides enough surface area to work efficiently on flat and curved surfaces, while still offering the control needed for detailed work. For many users, this is the only size required for the majority of tasks.
Why Choose the 7/8″ Size?
Balanced Performance
Combines surface coverage with precision, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
Consistent Control
Ideal peripheral speed for micromotors and flexible shaft machines.
Flexible Setup
Can be used as a single disc or stacked to create a wider polishing head
Designed for Stacking & Versatility
The 7/8″ format works particularly well when stacked on an MM503 mandrel.
Benefits of stacking
- Increased contact area
- Faster material removal
- More consistent finishing across curves
Typically, users stack 3 – 6 discs depending on the task.

Mounting & Compatibility
- Arbor hole: 1.6mm
- Recommended mandrel: MM503 screw-top mandrel (2.35mm (3/32″) or 3mm shank options)
- Supplied as unmounted discs
- Typically mounted in 3-6 layers to provide additional stability and increase performance
Important:
These discs have a 1.6mm centre hole and require an MM503 mandrel.
Do not use with MM304 mandrels – the 3mm screw is too large for these discs.
Operating Guidelines
Recommended Speed:
3,000 – 18,000 RPM (5,000 RPM for Woodworking)
Stacking & Orientation:
For best results, stack 3 – 6 discs to create a flexible, cushioned abrasive head.
Ensure the bristle curvature follows the direction of rotation.
Technique:
Use light pressure and allow the bristles to conform to the surface.
Complete Your Finishing Process
The Right Mounting
Use the MM503 screw-top mandrel. Stack 3 – 6 discs for best stability, surface contact and finishing consistency.
Need faster cutting?
Use 7/8″ Dual Discs for heavier deburring, fire-scale removal and first-stage cleaning.
Need better detail access?
Use 7/8″ Knife-Edge Discs for prongs, grooves, channels and recessed areas.
