High-Efficiency Deburring with Sunburst Dual Discs
The Dedeco Sunburst TC Dual Disc is designed for applications where standard radial discs do not provide sufficient cutting action.
By increasing the effective working width of the bristles, the dual disc delivers:
- Faster material removal
- Greater surface contact
- More efficient first-stage finishing
This makes it particularly effective for initial cleaning, deburring and surface preparation, especially on larger or more heavily oxidised areas.
Why Choose the Dual Disc Format?
Unlike stacking multiple individual discs onto a mandrel, the Dual Disc is manufactured as a single integrated unit, providing a more consistent and stable working profile.
Increased Aggression
Designed for heavier-duty applications, particularly in coarser grades.
Improved Stability
Reduced vibration during operation, especially at higher speeds.
Consistent Contact
A wider working face helps maintain even engagement across the surface.
Because the Dual Disc is moulded as a single integrated unit, it reduces uneven disc movement and provides a more consistent deburring edge than loosely stacked individual discs.
Stock note: 80 grit (yellow) is held in stock. Other grades are available on a 3 – 4+ week lead time.

Typical Applications
Jewellery & Casting
- Removal of fire scale and investment residue
- Cleaning sprue marks and rough cast surfaces
Engineering & Fabrication
- Deburring machined edges
- Cleaning oxidised or contaminated components
Restoration & Maintenance
- Removing tarnish, coatings and corrosion
- Preparing surfaces prior to finishing
Compare the 7/8″ Range
Dual discs are designed for aggressive material removal, but other 7/8″ formats may be better suited for detail work or polishing stages.
| Format | Best for |
|---|---|
| Standard discs | General cleaning, blending and polishing |
| Dual discs | Faster cutting and heavier deburring |
| Knife-edge discs | Grooves, prongs and tight detail areas |
| 4-ply mounted sets | Ready-to-use stacked setup with mandrel |
| Assortment kit | Trying the full grit range in one set |

Mounting & Compatibility
- Arbor hole: 1.6mm
- Recommended mandrel: MM503 screw-top mandrel (2.35mm (3/32″) or 3mm shank options)
- Supplied as unmounted discs
- Typically used individually; multiple Dual Discs may be mounted where additional working width is required
Important:
These discs are wider than standard Sunburst discs, but still use the same 1.6mm arbor hole and require an MM503 mandrel.
Do not use with MM304 mandrels – the 3mm screw is too large for these discs.
Operating Guidelines
Recommended Speed:
3,000 – 18,000 RPM (5,000 RPM for woodworking)
Orientation:
Ensure the bristle curvature follows the direction of rotation.
Technique:
Use light pressure and allow the bristles to perform the cutting action.
Recommended Workflow
Step 1 - Material Removal
Use Dual Discs for aggressive deburring, oxide removal and heavy contamination.
The integrated double-width design provides greater contact area and faster cutting than standard radial discs.
Step 2 - Surface Refinement
Switch to Standard Sunburst TC radial discs for blending, scratch refinement and surface finishing.
Because standard discs are more flexible and less aggressive, they provide improved control during later finishing stages.
Step 3 - Final Polish
Finish with felt wheels and polishing compounds where required.
Recommended Mounting
These discs feature a standard 1.6mm centre hole and require the MM503 screw-top mandrel.
Although wider than standard discs, they still mount using the same 1.6mm arbor system.
