RODA NyMops are the broader mop-style format in the RODA abrasive nylon range. They are designed for wider surface conditioning, satin finishing, rust removal, weld blending, deburring and general workshop finishing where a compact NyWheel or rounded buffing ball would not provide enough contact area.
Manufactured by Moleroda in our UK factory, RODA NyMops are made from layers of flexible non-woven abrasive nylon. This lap disc mop construction helps the abrasive conform to the workpiece while giving a controlled, consistent finish across larger faces, edges, contours and fabricated components.
Use RODA NyMops when you need a larger open-face abrasive nylon tool for broader finishing work. For smaller details, tight access areas or precision mounted finishing, choose RODA NyWheels & Small Buffing Balls. Choosing the Right RODA Abrasive Nylon Format
RODA abrasive nylon products are available in several formats. The best option depends on the size of the component, the shape of the surface and the amount of contact area you need.
For manual cleaning, blending and cut-to-size surface preparation, we also supply abrasive nylon hand pads and abrasive nylon roll as part of the wider RODA abrasive nylon range.
Mounting & Compatible Machines
RODA NyMops are designed for use with suitable rotary machines and the correct taper spindle, pigtail or 6mm shank tapered mandrel setup. This mounting flexibility is one of the key differences between RODA NyMops and smaller mounted abrasive nylon tools.
BENCH MOTORS & POLISHING LATHES
All RODA NyMop sizes can be used on suitable stationary bench motors or polishing lathes when mounted on the correct taper or pigtail. The 6″ NyMop format is intended exclusively for this type of stationary machine setup.
HEAVY-DUTY ROTARY TOOLS
3″ and 4″ RODA NyMops can also be used on suitable heavy-duty rotary tools when fitted to an appropriate tapered mandrel and used with a compatible 6mm chuck or collet.
Important setup note:
Always check that the machine, taper, pigtail, mandrel, chuck or collet is suitable for the selected NyMop diameter. Use an appropriate speed, light pressure and a secure mounting method before operation.
