A Complete 4-Ply Finishing System
The Dedeco Sunburst 7/8″ TC 4-ply mounted set is designed for users who want a consistent, ready-configured finishing tool without the need to assemble individual discs.
By supplying four discs of the same grade along with a matched mandrel, this set ensures correct setup and performance from the outset—eliminating the trial-and-error often associated with building your own stack.
Why Use a 4-Ply Configuration?
When multiple discs are stacked together, the bristles overlap to create a denser, more stable abrasive surface.
The 4-ply stack acts as a single, unified brush. This density prevents individual discs from splaying, ensuring that even when working on flat surfaces, the abrasive pressure remains uniform.
This results in:
Wider Working Face
Covers more surface area per pass, improving efficiency.
Improved Consistency
A more even contact across the workpiece reduces uneven finishing.
Extended Working Life
Load is distributed across multiple discs, reducing wear rate.
Balanced Performance
Maintains flexibility while providing enough density for effective material removal.

Compare the 7/8″ Range
Not sure which 7/8″ format is right for your job?
4-ply assemblies provide a ready-to-use finishing setup, while other 7/8″ formats offer specialist cutting or detailing options.
| Format | Best for |
|---|---|
| Standard discs | General cleaning, blending and polishing |
| Dual discs | Faster cutting and heavier deburring |
| Knife-edge discs | Grooves, prongs and tight detail areas |
| 4-ply mounted sets | Ready-to-use stacked setup with mandrel |
| Assortment kit | Trying the full grit range in one set |

Mandrel & Tool Compatibility
Each set includes an MM503 screw-top mandrel with a 2.35mm (3/32″) shank.
This is ideal for:
- Micromotors
- Jewellery handpieces
- Compatible flexible shaft systems
If your tool requires a 3mm shank, use standard 7/8″ Sunburst TC radial discs with the 3mm MM503 mandrel instead.
Setup & Operating Guidelines
Recommended speed:
3,000 – 18,000 RPM (5,000 RPM for woodworking)
Assembly:
Discs are supplied loose for protection during shipping. Thread all four discs onto the mandrel before use.
Orientation:
Ensure the curved bristles are aligned with the direction of rotation. The “tail” of the bristle should follow the rotation for optimal performance.
Technique:
Use light pressure and allow the bristles to conform naturally to the surface.
Complete Your Finishing Process
Need replacement discs?
Once the discs are worn, you can reuse the included mandrel with individual 7/8″ Sunburst TC radial discs.
Need more aggressive cutting?
Use 7/8″ Dual Discs for heavier fire-scale removal or faster first-stage deburring.
Need more precise access?
Use 7/8″ Knife-Edge Discs for grooves, prongs and tight detail areas.
