RODA NyWheels – Mounted Abrasive Nylon Wheels & Small Buffing Balls
RODA NyWheels are one of Moleroda’s staple RODA products and one of our most popular UK-made miniature abrasive tools. Developed and refined for real finishing applications, they are used for precision deburring, cleaning, blending, satin finishing and pre-polishing across jewellery, engineering, dental, mould tool, fabrication and hobby rotary tool applications.
This product page brings together the compact RODA NyWheel range, including both standard mounted abrasive nylon wheels and small abrasive nylon buffing balls. Choose your format, shank size, diameter and abrasive grade to suit your rotary tool, material and desired finish.
Made from flexible abrasive nylon material, often described as Scotch-Brite style non-woven abrasive, RODA NyWheels behave more like a springy three-dimensional abrasive web than a rigid abrasive wheel. This helps the tool follow curves, edges, holes, slots, profiles and detailed components without aggressively cutting away the base shape of the part.
RODA NyWheels & Small Buffing Balls are part of Moleroda’s wider UK-made RODA range of polishing, deburring and finishing products.

RODA NyWheels are designed to make precision surface preparation faster, cleaner and more repeatable than hand finishing alone. Their flexible non-woven abrasive structure gives controlled cutting action while conforming to the shape of the component, making them especially useful where consistency, access and finish quality matter.
Controlled surface preparation
Ideal for deburring, cleaning, blending and pre-polishing before final finishing.
No polishing compound required
The abrasive mineral is built into the nylon web, giving clean, dry finishing without grease, splatter or compound clean-up.
Consistent satin and brushed finishes
Helps produce repeatable finishes more quickly than hand finishing alone.
Resists loading and clogging
The open non-woven web allows dust, swarf and debris to escape through the fibres, helping the tool keep cutting cleanly.
Highly conformable
The flexible structure follows curves, corners, slots and profiles without flattening details or aggressively altering the part geometry.
Clean alternative to steel wool
Non-woven abrasive nylon will not rust, shred or leave behind fine metal splinters.
Made in the UK
Manufactured in-house by Moleroda as part of the trusted RODA range of polishing, deburring and precision finishing products.
Common Applications
From fine jewellery work to CNC-machined components, RODA NyWheels are used wherever small areas need to be cleaned, blended, deburred or finished without losing control of the surface. The standard wheel format is ideal for edges, faces and channels, while the small buffing ball format is especially useful for curves, bores, recesses and more complex profiles.

Choosing Your Abrasive Grade
RODA NyWheels are available in a wide range of abrasive nylon grades, from fine cleaning and bright finishing grades through to coarse deburring and graining grades. Because the same RODA abrasive nylon grade system is used across multiple product formats, we recommend using our dedicated grade guide as the central reference for colour, grit, cutting action, material suitability and finish type.

Recommended Maximum RPM
For best performance, tool life and operator safety, do not exceed the recommended maximum speed for the selected diameter. Use light pressure and allow the abrasive nylon to do the work.
| Tool Diameter | Recommended Maximum Speed |
|---|---|
| 22mm | 26,000 RPM |
| 25mm | 24,000 RPM |
| 30mm | 20,000 RPM |
| 40mm | 16,000 RPM |
