Industrial-Grade Finishing with 1-inch Sunburst Discs
The Dedeco 1″ radial disc range is designed for applications where standard 7/8″ discs do not provide sufficient coverage or cutting performance.
The increased diameter delivers:
- Greater surface contact per pass
- Improved efficiency on larger components
- More stable performance under load
Combined with a 3mm arbor, these discs are suited to higher torque applications where smaller mandrels would be insufficient.
Ultra-Coarse Grit Options
The 1″ range includes 36 grit (brown) and 54 grit (grey) – significantly more aggressive than standard 80 grit.
These grades are ideal for:
- Removing heavy corrosion and mill scale
- Cleaning large castings and removing investment
- Rapid deburring of thick or hard materials
- Stripping coatings or surface contamination
This makes the 1″ range the preferred choice for industrial and restoration work.

Typical Applications
Industrial & Fabrication
- Removing scale, oxidation and coatings
- Deburring heavy machined components
Casting & Foundry Work
- Cleaning large castings
- Removing sprue marks and investment
Restoration & Maintenance
- Surface preparation on heavily worn parts
- Cleaning corroded metal surfaces
Mandrel Compatibility
These discs feature a 3mm centre hole, which requires a compatible mandrel for mounting.
Use with: MM304 (3mm screw mandrel)
Not compatible with: MM503 (1.6mm screw mandrel)
Using the incorrect mandrel will result in:
- Poor fit or inability to mount
- Unsafe operation
- Reduced performance
Operating Guidelines
Recommended Speed:
- 3,000 – 18,000 RPM (5,000 RPM for Woodworking)
Setup:
- Stack 3–6 discs for optimal performance
- Ensure bristle curvature follows rotation direction
Technique:
- Use light to moderate pressure
- Allow the bristles to perform the cutting action
