Precision Finishing with 5/8-inch Sunburst Discs
The Dedeco 5/8″ radial disc is designed for the detail stages of finishing, where control and access are more important than surface coverage.
Its smaller diameter allows for precise work on intricate components, making it an essential tool for professionals working with fine geometries and delicate materials.
Why Choose the 5/8″ Size?
Increased Access
Easily reaches into tight internal areas, grooves and recessed features.
Improved Visibility
Smaller disc profile allows clearer sight of the workpiece during operation.
Greater Control
Reduced peripheral speed provides a more controlled cutting action, particularly useful on delicate or heat-sensitive materials.

Mandrel Compatibility
These discs use a 1.6mm centre hole and require a compatible mandrel for mounting.
Use with: MM503 screw-top mandrel (2.35mm or 3mm shank)
Not compatible with: MM304 (3mm screw for 1″ discs)
5/8″ Discs vs 1/2″ Snap-On Discs
While similar in size, these systems serve different purposes:
- 5/8″ discs → screw-top mounting, stackable, more stable
- 1/2″ Snap-On discs → quick-change system, faster workflow
Choose 5/8″ for control and flexibility
Choose 1/2″ Snap-On for speed and high-volume work
Operating Guidelines
Recommended Speed:
3,000 – 18,000 RPM (5,000 RPM for Woodworking)
Stacking:
For best results, stack 3–6 discs to create a flexible, cushioned abrasive head.
Technique:
Use light pressure and allow the bristles to conform to the surface.
