The size is suitable for larger scale work in particular fabrication, foundry\/sculpture and engine components.<\/p>\n<p>Coarser grades are excellent for harder metals and for doing more work where there is large burrs.<\/p>\n<h2>For Jewellers<\/h2>\n<p>These files are handy for larger scale work such as bangles and silversmithing. The coarser grades suit initial finishing and shaping. We would advise 400 grit upwards for precious metals. The foam backed abrasive is softer to use and contours a little for curved forms.
