Simply mount your polishing mops to your drill using the mandrel supplied. Use the polishing compound supplied, and watch your surface or object return to a brilliant shine as you restore it to its former glory (without all the hard work!).<\/p>\n<p>The rapid drill-mounted polishing kit is suitable for polishing <strong>Chrome<\/strong> and other hard ferrous metals such steel and iron (see our other kits for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revivetool.com\/product\/metal-polishing-kit-drill-mounted-for-non-ferrous-metals-like-alluminium-copper-brass\/\">polishing aluminium, brass, copper and softer non-ferrous metals<\/a>).<\/p>\n<h2>Drill-Mounted <strong>Chrome<\/strong> Polishing Kit &#8211; Contents<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Chrome Polishing kit <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 reverse thread mandrel<\/li>\n<li>75mm Dry sisal polishing mop (rough)<\/li>\n<li>75mm white stitched polishing mop (medium)<\/li>\n<li>75mm WDR polishing mop (light)<\/li>\n<li>Bar of Pink compound (for polishing harder ferrous metal &#8211; Steel, Iron etc)<\/li>\n<li>Bar of Black compound (for cutting harder ferrous metal &#8211; Steel, Iron etc)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See our our other kits for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revivetool.com\/product\/metal-polishing-kit-drill-mounted-for-non-ferrous-metals-like-alluminium-copper-brass\/\">polishing non-ferrous metals such as Aluminium, Brass, Copper<\/a> etc. These contain Blue (polishing) &amp; Brown (cutting) compound for non-ferrous softer Aluminium, Brass, Copper etc<\/p>\n<p><strong>Used for: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Polishing <strong>Chrome<\/strong> and all ferrous metals (and can be used on other materials depending on the compound used &#8211; see our compound section).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Use With: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A standard drill or air tool, any rotary tool that will take a 6mm spindle (one which also doesn\u2019t run faster than the 3,000RPM recommended).<\/p>\n<h2>How to assemble the drill-mounted polishing kit<\/h2>\n<p>The Mandrel works with a reverse thread nut, sandwich the wheel between the two washers and mount onto the mandrel.<\/p>\n<p>Tighten the reverse thread nut (the reverse thread on the tool means it won\u2019t come undone as the tool spins on your drill).<\/p>\n<p>Attach the end of the mandrel to your drill. The mandrel fits most basic drills.<\/p>\n<h2>How to use the drill-mounted <strong>chrome<\/strong> polishing kit<\/h2>\n<p>Start with the dry sisal (roughest wheel) if you have scratches and marks to remove. Use the rough wheels with the darker compound. We recommend clamping the compound to a G clamp. Spin the wheels it against the cutting compound to load. Compound will melt and coat the wheel. Work over the metal ensuring you keep moving. Move on to the white stitched mop next. At this point you can either use cutting compound or polishing compound. Use the softest mop with lighter colour polishing compound for the final process and see the reflective shine appear in the metal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ALWAYS<\/strong> test the <strong>chrome<\/strong>-polishing kit on a test surface before use. Abrasive mops and compound can cause damage to soft and pliable surfaces, and change the appearance of surfaces and objects.<\/p>\n<h2>Safety<\/h2>\n<p><strong>ALWAYS<\/strong> follow the instructions of your power tool.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ALWAYS<\/strong> use personal protective equipment. Use of googles and gloves is recommended. Please Tie back loose cloths and hair.<\/p>\n<p>Metal work is a dirty job so please bare this in when choosing, making safe and cleaning your work area. An appropriate ventilation system is recommended. Always clean the area after use, using an appropriate vacuum system.
