Glass repair kit for polishing and taking out small marks and scratches.

Glass restoration kit (for taking out small marks and polishing) contents:

Ideal for polishing watch glasses, small pieces of glassware, mirrors, glass screens, etc.

Note—This kit will not remove very deep scratches or stone chips from glass but will re-polish and remove light scratches.

A standard drill or air tool, any rotary tool that will take a 6mm spindle (one which also doesn’t run faster than the 3,000RPM recommended).

Sandwich the wheel between the two washers and mount onto the mandrel.

Tighten the reverse thread nut (the reverse thread on the tool means it won’t come undone as the tool spins on your drill).

Attach the end of the mandrel to your drill. The mandrel fits most basic drills.

Mix the pumice with water to make a paste similar to single cream. Add a little of the paste to the surface and work in a figure of 8 motion with the felt wheel.

It should take roughly 3-5 mins. Keep moving to avoid heating the glass. Too much heat and the glass may shatter. Keep adding a sprinkling of water and check you are not heating the glass too much.

Using a fresh Wheel, repeat these steps with the Cerium Oxide (peach powder) to restore the polish. Always wear a mask and eye protection when handling powders and polishing (see safety advice below).

ALWAYS test the glass restoration kit on a test surface before use.

ALWAYS follow the instructions of your power tool.

ALWAYS use personal protective equipment. Use of googles and gloves is recommended. Please Tie back loose cloths and hair.

Metal work is a dirty job so please bare this in when choosing, making safe and cleaning your work area. An appropriate ventilation system is recommended. Always clean the area after use, using an appropriate vacuum system. Micro-plastics can be released as the nylon cleaning disk degrades – so please contain and clean up the particles to prevent escape into the environment.
